Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Milking time; and Cattle in a meadow by Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 660.00. Admittedly, works by Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Watering Cows By A River in April 2004 with an auction result of EUR 5,377.50.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Milking time; and Cattle in a meadow von Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen im September 2006 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 660,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Watering Cows By A River im April 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.377,50.
