Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Espelho D'Agua by Adriana Varejão. The price achieved of USD 365,000.00 (€ 345,578.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriana Varejão - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II), which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 1,105,250.00 (€ 1,301,892.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Espelho D'Agua von Adriana Varejão zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 365.000,00 (€ 345.578,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Adriana Varejão mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II) beobachtet, die im Februar 2011 für GBP 1.105.250,00 (€ 1.301.892,03) versteigert wurde.
