In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Still Life I by Adrian Stokes. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,024.00 (€ 1,194.70), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adrian Stokes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior at Euston Road School Studio, 1938, which sold at auction in August 2015 for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,401.76).

Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life I von Adrian Stokes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.024,00 (€ 1.194,70) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Adrian Stokes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Interior at Euston Road School Studio, 1938 beobachtet, die im August 2015 für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.401,76) versteigert wurde.
