Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Summer by the sea by Adrian Stokes for GBP 107.55 (€ 160.58). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adrian Stokes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior at Euston Road School Studio, 1938 in August 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,401.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Summer by the sea von Adrian Stokes für GBP 107,55 (€ 160,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adrian Stokes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior at Euston Road School Studio, 1938 im August 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.401,76).
