It achieved a price of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 63,698.79), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 72%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriaen van Utrecht - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stillleben mit Früchten, Gemüse und einem Papagei, which sold at auction in November 2017 for EUR 210,800.00.

Die Arbeit Grapes, apples, plums, figs and other fruit on a partly draped wooden table, a monkey eating walnuts by an upturned woven basket von Adriaen van Utrecht kam im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 63.698,79) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 72%. Für andere Arbeiten von Adriaen van Utrecht mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stillleben mit Früchten, Gemüse und einem Papagei beobachtet, die im November 2017 für EUR 210.800,00 versteigert wurde.
