Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Berne; and Pompei by Adolphe Braun was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 23.50 (€ 36.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolphe Braun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vues Panoramiques: 'Lac de Wallenstadt'; 'Vallée de Chamonix'; 'Chapelle Notre Dame a Feé Vallée de Saas'; 'Vue de Interlaken'; 'Vue de la Schienigiplatte'; 'Vue de Wengen pres Lauterbrunnen'; 'Vallee de Gastern Suisse'; 'Le Stanbach'; 'Kandersteg in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,785.17
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Berne; and Pompei von Adolphe Braun im November 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 23,50 (€ 36,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolphe Braun erzielen.
