Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Group of Four Landscapes, 1946-49 by Adolf Dehn was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 318.75 (€ 316.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolf Dehn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The First Snowfall in March 2010 with an auction result of USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,931.10).
