In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included the work Algerianaxe On by Adel Abdessemed. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 100,000.00 (€ 112,769.15), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adel Abdessemed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Klan, which sold at auction in October 2014 for GBP 206,500.00 (€ 263,670.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East durch, in der auch die Arbeit Algerianaxe On von Adel Abdessemed zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 100.000,00 (€ 112.769,15) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Adel Abdessemed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Klan beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für GBP 206.500,00 (€ 263.670,67) versteigert wurde.
