Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sorry We're Closed, 2012 by Adam McEwen was auctioned at Bonhams in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 768.00 (€ 881.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam McEwen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Oasis Water Fountain in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 437,000.00 (€ 320,381.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sorry We're Closed, 2012 von Adam McEwen im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 768,00 (€ 881,88) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adam McEwen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Oasis Water Fountain im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 437.000,00 (€ 320.381,23).
