Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Cattle watering in a river landscape by Adam Barland for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,881.22). This price was achieved in the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Adam Barland have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2000 by the work Figures in a horse and cart in an extensive landscape at GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,648.93).
