AD DEKKERS (1938-1974) Ruimtelijk vierkant (Spatial square) signed, signed with the artist’s initials, titled and dated twice 'RUIMTELIJK VIERKANT 1971. AD. DEKKERS. AD '71' (on the underside) painted wood 40 x 40 x 24cm. Executed in 1971, this work is one from four identical versions
Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam, which included the work Ruimtelijk vierkant (Spatial square) by Ad Dekkers. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,300.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ad Dekkers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch Reliëf Met Afgeschuinde Blokjes - Relief With Bevelled Blocks in June 2008 with an auction result of EUR 108,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ruimtelijk vierkant (Spatial square) von Ad Dekkers zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 6.300,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ad Dekkers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch Reliëf Met Afgeschuinde Blokjes - Relief With Bevelled Blocks im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 108.750,00.
