Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A coastal scene with shipping and fisherman selling their catch by Abraham Willaerts was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,538.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Willaerts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ships Moored Off A Rocky Coastline With Fishermen Unloading Their Catch in April 2013 with an auction result of GBP 86,500.00 (€ 102,074.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A coastal scene with shipping and fisherman selling their catch von Abraham Willaerts im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.737,50 (€ 6.538,88) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Willaerts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ships Moored Off A Rocky Coastline With Fishermen Unloading Their Catch im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 86.500,00 (€ 102.074,99).
