In November 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Collection of Martha Hyder Online, which included the work Isadora Duncan Dancing Iii by Abraham Walkowitz. The result of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,324.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Walkowitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cityscape in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,270.61).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Collection of Martha Hyder Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Isadora Duncan Dancing Iii von Abraham Walkowitz zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.324,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Walkowitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cityscape im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.270,61).
