Auction result well in line with expectations
The work City Abstraction by Abraham Walkowitz was sold in the Modern American Masterworks from the Ted Shen Collection auction at Christies in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,135.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Walkowitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cityscape in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,270.61).

Die Arbeit City Abstraction von Abraham Walkowitz wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern American Masterworks from the Ted Shen Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.670,00 (€ 5.135,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Walkowitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cityscape im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.270,61).
