Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Still Life With Salmon, Plaice, A Crab And Other Fish Arranged On A Table, A View Of The Sea Beyond by Abraham van Beyeren was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,699.56). Admittedly, works by Abraham van Beyeren have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Wine Glasses in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 110,786.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Still Life With Salmon, Plaice, A Crab And Other Fish Arranged On A Table, A View Of The Sea Beyond von Abraham van Beyeren im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.699,56) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abraham van Beyeren auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Wine Glasses im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 110.786,27).
