The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,229.64), 52% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abraham S. Baylinson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Deep in thought sold at auction in October 2011 with the realized price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,314.62).
