Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With Tulips, Carnations, Daffodils And Other Flowers In A Metallic Urn On A Stone Ledge, With Figs, Plums And A Bowl Of Strawberries Below by Abraham Brueghel was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,425.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Brueghel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A watermelon, cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, pomegranate and figs with lilies, roses, morning glory and other flowers on an acanthus stone relief, a mountainous landscape beyond in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 276,800.00 (€ 401,759.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life With Tulips, Carnations, Daffodils And Other Flowers In A Metallic Urn On A Stone Ledge, With Figs, Plums And A Bowl Of Strawberries Below von Abraham Brueghel im Juli 2013 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.425,14) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Brueghel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A watermelon, cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, pomegranate and figs with lilies, roses, morning glory and other flowers on an acanthus stone relief, a mountainous landscape beyond im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 276.800,00 (€ 401.759,70).
