In June 2009 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Old Master Paintings, XIX Century Paintings, Furniture, Ceramics and Works of Art and Books, which included the work Natura Morta Con Uva, Melagrana E Pesche by Abraham Brueghel. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 22,350.00 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Brueghel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A watermelon, cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, pomegranate and figs with lilies, roses, morning glory and other flowers on an acanthus stone relief, a mountainous landscape beyond in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 276,800.00 (€ 401,759.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2009 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Old Master Paintings, XIX Century Paintings, Furniture, Ceramics and Works of Art and Books durch, in der auch die Arbeit Natura Morta Con Uva, Melagrana E Pesche von Abraham Brueghel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 22.350,00 und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Brueghel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A watermelon, cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, pomegranate and figs with lilies, roses, morning glory and other flowers on an acanthus stone relief, a mountainous landscape beyond im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 276.800,00 (€ 401.759,70).
