This price was achieved in the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Abraham Brueghel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A watermelon, cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, pomegranate and figs with lilies, roses, morning glory and other flowers on an acanthus stone relief, a mountainous landscape beyond in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 276,800.00 (€ 401,759.70).
