Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Madonna and Child with Angels by Abraham Bloemaert was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,180.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,500.00 – 7,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Bloemaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mythological Scene, Perhaps Venus And Cupid in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 434,500.00 (€ 319,861.60).

Die Arbeit Madonna and Child with Angels von Abraham Bloemaert wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.180,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.500,00 – 7.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Bloemaert erzielen.
