Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Abraham Bloemaert achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2021. In the Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection auction, the work A rocky, mountainous region with a cascading river with two figures sold for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,621.14) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Bloemaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mythological Scene, Perhaps Venus And Cupid in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 434,500.00 (€ 319,861.60).
The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection wurde die Arbeit A rocky, mountainous region with a cascading river with two figures für GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.621,14) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 4.000,00.
