In September 2013 Christies in New York held the auction The Art of Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore and Rabindranath Tagore: The Supratik Bose Collection, which included the work Untitled (Merchant) by Abanindranath Tagore. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,941.26), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abanindranath Tagore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Siva-Simantini) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 555,750.00 (€ 410,602.14).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen

Im September 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Art of Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore and Rabindranath Tagore: The Supratik Bose Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Merchant) von Abanindranath Tagore zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 36.941,26) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abanindranath Tagore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Siva-Simantini) im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 555.750,00 (€ 410.602,14).
