This artwork by Abanindranath Tagore achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Mumbai in December 2015. In the The India Sale auction, the work Uma The Great Mother Daughter Of The Mountain sold for INR 1,250,000.00 (€ 17,381.90) - well above the upper estimate of INR 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abanindranath Tagore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Siva-Simantini) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 555,750.00 (€ 410,602.14).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Abanindranath Tagore erzielte im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in Mumbai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The India Sale wurde die Arbeit Uma The Great Mother Daughter Of The Mountain für INR 1.250.000,00 (€ 17.381,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von INR 700.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abanindranath Tagore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Siva-Simantini) im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 555.750,00 (€ 410.602,14).
