Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Katla Fish) by Abanindranath Tagore for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,699.32). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abanindranath Tagore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Siva-Simantini) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 555,750.00 (€ 410,602.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Katla Fish) von Abanindranath Tagore für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.699,32) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abanindranath Tagore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Siva-Simantini) im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 555.750,00 (€ 410.602,14).
