Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work Chicago 13, 1952 from the portfolio Chicago Façade by Aaron Siskind for USD 768.00 (€ 671.21). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs at Bonhams in Skinner Boston and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aaron Siskind achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Terrors and Pleasures of Levitation in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 69,007.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Chicago 13, 1952 from the portfolio Chicago Façade von Aaron Siskind für USD 768,00 (€ 671,21) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aaron Siskind erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Terrors and Pleasures of Levitation im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 69.007,98).
