Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Studies of George Basso by Aaron Shikler was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 561.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aaron Shikler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cathy At Easel in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 85,000.00 (€ 54,627.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Studies of George Basso von Aaron Shikler im Februar 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 750,00 (€ 561,42) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aaron Shikler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cathy At Easel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 85.000,00 (€ 54.627,25).
