In September 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Child in the Forest by Aaron Shikler. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,065.69) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aaron Shikler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cathy At Easel, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 85,000.00 (€ 54,627.25).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Child in the Forest von Aaron Shikler zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.065,69) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Aaron Shikler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cathy At Easel beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 85.000,00 (€ 54.627,25) versteigert wurde.
