She paints with beeswax and oil paint, her pictures are expressive and abstract. Tanja Thordsen's unconventional works of art captivate the public and invite them to immerse themselves in another world. Using a technique she developed herself, she applies colored beeswax and then selectively scrapes it off to create a unique surface structure. The self-taught artist Thordsen (*1974) comes from the far north of Germany and exhibits internationally. In January and February, her solo exhibition at hit Technopark in Hamburg marks the beginning of a series of solo shows that will run until October 2024.

The exhibition series Kunst verbindet... (Art connects…) has existed since 1998. Selected artists first show their work in a group exhibition and then one after the other in solo exhibitions. In addition to Tanja Thordsen, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program, visitors can discover the works of Marlen Schulz, Claudia Mächler, Janus Hochgesand and Kirsten Ladiges. Kunst verbindet... Farbe mit Fantasie is accompanied by tape art works by Atau Hámos, which will be on display on the façade of the building for a year.Art.Salon

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.
