Ukrainian artist Pavlo Makov will represent his home country's pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale. Despite the situation in his country, he intends to continue working and open his exhibition as planned on April 23. At the time of the decision, Makov was in Kharkiv, and his three curators were in Kiev. Biennale officials are currently looking for a way to bring them all safely to Italy. Makov plans to implement a new version of his 1995 installation The Fountain of Exhaustion.

Already at the end of February, Russian artists Alexandra Sukhareva and Kirill Savchenkov declared that they would not open their pavilion. » There is no place for art when civilians are dying under the fire of missiles, when citizens of Ukraine are hiding in shelters, when Russian protesters are getting silenced,« they wrote in a joint statement.Art.Salon

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.

Guido Klumpe

It is in the context of functional architecture in urban spaces that Guido Klumpe finds the motifs that he stages with his camera as the poetry of the profane. His picturesque images unfold an opulent effect with a reduced formal language, showing us the beauty of the moment in the flow of everyday life.
