A total of 14 artists from five countries are taking part in the first edition of the BELICHTUGSMESSER 1 biennial. Under the title Symbiosis, the festival will combine two locations until June 23, where art will be exhibited in parallel: in the Kunstforum Mainturm gallery in Flörsheim am Main and in the Haus der Stadtgeschichte (House of City History) in Offenbach am Main. At the Offenbach location in the large industrial hall, large-format photo and video works by artist Corinna Rosteck, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program, will be on display. Her photographs combine water and dance; she examines dynamic structures in the reflections of the surface as an expression of human desires. In performative installations, she projects images onto dancers in order to capture the character of movement in the fixed gaze of the camera. On May 4, a live performance took place during the Night of Museums at the Haus der Stadtgeschichte in Offenbach: After a »walk and talk« with the curators Katja M. Schneider and Andrea Simon through the exhibition, the live video dance performance by Corinna Rosteck and Alessandra Corti began with live music: DJs/live music by Daniel Eyrich, Michael Laven, Alexander Fischer @Lebenswelt Records.

Corinna Rosteck, born in 1968, grew up in Hamelin and Ibiza, is a freelance artist in the fields of photography, video art and installation. Since her studies in Berlin (with Professor K. Gonschior/color space painting) and her master student diploma with Prof. Katharina Sieverding (photo media), she has developed a painterly photography since the mid-1990s, which uses experimental printing processes on reflective materials and surfaces to create unique objects using light technology.

Supported by prestigious scholarships and study visits, she intensified her artistic exploration in New York at the International Center of Photography, in London at Central St. Martin's College of Art & Design and at the Cinemathèque de Paris, in search of »other realities«, images that create unsettling, constructed realities. She is a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie, Cologne and the Deutscher Künstlerbund. Rosteck has realized various video installations for performances by contemporary ensembles and musicians and art-in-architecture projects for well-known companies.Art.Salon

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.
