Munich: December Auction at Ketterer Kunst

New record auction?

The auction house Ketterer Kunst could end the year 2022 with a record auction. After the successful start in June, it is now auctioning further Brücke artworks from the Gerlinger Collection and high-quality post-war art on 9 and 10 December.

The Hermann Gerlinger Collection (HGC) is considered an important compilation of works by the Brücke artists' association. Special attention is paid to the approximately 40 prints documenting the creative collective work of the Brücke. These are »the core of the core of the Hermann Gerlinger Collection« as auctioneer Robert Ketterer points out. »We are preparing a bid like we have never had before. And the strong dollar makes auctions in Europe particularly interesting for customers from the USA and Asia«, he adds. On 9 and 10 December it will become clear whether Ketterer can close its successful year 2022 with a furious finale. The signs are good.

Ketterer Kunst was founded in 1954 and is the most successful art auction house in Germany. The focus is on art from the 19th to the 21st century as well as on valuable books. Ketterer Kunst is the European leader in these segments, with sales of 88 million euros in 2021. In June of this year, the house auctioned off the first part of the HGC. All 45 works of art on offer found new owners, some at record prices. Since then, the number of enquiries about the collection has risen even further.Art.Salon
