Pablo Picasso is generally associated with Cubism; together with Georges Braque, he is considered the inventor of this art movement. However, the oeuvre of the famous painter testifies to an enormous range, joy in experimentation and constant reorientation and reinvention. In his so-called Blue Phase, Picasso was one of the main representatives of Symbolism, and in the 1920s he began the trend of referencing classical painting. Towards the end of his life he tried to valorize arts and crafts − especially pottery. Now the ALBERTINA is organizing the exhibition Picasso. On the 50th Anniversary of his Death, which can be seen in Vienna from March 17 to June 18.

More than 70 exhibits from the in-house collection, including major works from the Blue Phase and rarely shown paintings from the postwar period, testify to Picasso's diversity. The ALBERTINA show promises exciting insights into one of the best-known and most studied œuvres in art history.Art.Salon

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.

Guido Klumpe

It is in the context of functional architecture in urban spaces that Guido Klumpe finds the motifs that he stages with his camera as the poetry of the profane. His picturesque images unfold an opulent effect with a reduced formal language, showing us the beauty of the moment in the flow of everyday life.
