Opening at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence on October 2, 2021, a comprehensive solo exhibition of the works of Jeff Koons: Jeff Koons. Shine is the title of the event, which will be on view until January 30, 2022. During the four months, Palazzo Strozzi will show a compilation of various loans from important collections and museums around the world, among which are the most famous pieces of the artist. The exhibition was curated by Galansino and Joachim Pissarro – the concept as well as the accompanying title were created in close collaboration with Jeff Koons himself. The entire solo show Jeff Koons. Shine was designed to bring to life the artist's idea that his sculptures and installations always follow the key principle of shine. Accordingly, visitors are introduced to the ambiguity inherent in the duality of truth and sensation as they are reflected in the shine of the exhibits, thus recognizing themselves and finding themselves in their surroundings - it is not about the work, but about the viewer. With his works, Jeff Koons refers to art-historical events and consumer society at the same time.

Koons is considered one of the most important contemporary and, at the same time, most controversial artists, who has been famous since the mid-1970s. He is known above all for his pop sculptures such as Rabbit, the metal-colored replica of an inflatable rabbit.Art.Salon
