Every two years, GEDOK Schleswig-Holstein, the association of female artists and art patrons, presents current artworks and positions by female artists living in Schleswig-Holstein. The spectrum ranges from painting and printmaking to photography and spatial installations. The aim of the association is to increase the public presence of its members and to improve the working conditions of female artists. On June 16, five artists from the exhibition will give a talk on the subject of inspiration and work at a midissage followed by a discussion. The painter Eva-Maria Mehrgardt, for example, will give a lecture on Inner Landscapes and the photographer Heidi Krautwald on Sediment of Memory.

Anja Mamero from Kiel, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program, is one of the 25 artists on show. In her current works, she processes formative childhood memories in pictures that initially appear rigid, but whose dynamics are revealed at second glance. Figures in the backgrounds of the pictures are overlaid with lines. Mamero visually translates the characteristics of memories, which are fragmentary and sometimes covered by a veil, but which are nevertheless never forgotten. Mamero's works can be seen in the exhibition GEDOK WERK-SHOW 2024, which opens on May 31 at 6 pm with a speech by art historian Almut Rix. The show runs until June 30 at the Atelierhaus im Anscharpark in Kiel.

Mamero's works are created in interaction with the painting itself: she applies the colors in many layers, whereby the work changes again and again, rediscovers itself and takes different directions. The unpredictable is part of Mamero's creative process. Born in Hamburg, the artist studied industrial design and graduated from the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel. Her previous exhibitions have taken her to Lübeck, Sylt, Berlin, Hamburg and the Danish cities of Kolding and Augustenborg, among others.Art.Salon

First bronze sculptures by Mathias Kadolph

The lively, dynamic and concentrated formal language of sculptor Mathias Kadolph has so far manifested itself primarily through his material, wood. Now, for the first time, he has had miniatures cast in bronze in an edition of twelve sculptures each. These convey essential impressions of his formal ideas and open up to new impulses for our perception.
