Seattle Art Fair

Founded by entrepreneur and art collector Paul G. Allen, who passed away in 2018, the Seattle Art Fair has become a major destination for art enthusiasts and collectors. Seattle is not only the economic and cultural center of the American Northwest, but also the artistic one, as evidenced by the existence and success of the Seattle Art Fair. This year, 67 galleries are represented. Most are from Seattle or nearby Portland, but numerous guests from metropolises such as New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, Isfahan, Seoul, Karlsruhe and Barcelona also add (inter)national perspectives to the program. The Seattle Art Fair opens its doors from July 27 to 30.

In addition to the traditional art trade, the fair organizes a diverse program of Public Projects and other events. Public Projects are special, experimental artworks or performances by artists from participating galleries that are honored with greater attention. Events include panel discussions and interviews, such as on the influence of artificial intelligences in the art scene or the history of the Seattle Civic Arts Collection on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. This collection consists of over 4,000 works of art that adorn public spaces and buildings in the city and is regularly expanded democratically in collaboration with Seattle residents.Art.Salon

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.
