Gifted on the occasion of the original owner’s business grand opening in 1940’s, and passed down by descent.
NOTE:
Zou Lu, originally named Zou Chengsheng, was a native of Dapu of Guangdong. He was a noted politician in the republican era. He went to Taiwan in 1949 and held an important post in Kuomintang. He was the author of Chinese Nationalist Party History.

The work Calligraphy by Zou Lu was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. It achieved a price of HKD 13,750.00 (€ 1,570.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zou Lu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seven-Character Poem in Running Script in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 184,000.00 (€ 17,460.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Zou Lu wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 13.750,00 (€ 1.570,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zou Lu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seven-Character Poem in Running Script im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 184.000,00 (€ 17.460,64).
