Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work One And Thirty - Peasant (Four Works) by Zhuang Hui for USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,714.19). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Asia: China, Korea, Japan at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Zhuang Hui have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 1.
