Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zhou Mengdie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy in Kaishu sold for HKD 113,400.00 (€ 12,614.18) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhou Mengdie; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy in Kaishu sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of HKD 138,600.00 (€ 16,757.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhou Mengdie erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Kaishu für HKD 113.400,00 (€ 12.614,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhou Mengdie; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Kaishu im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 138.600,00 (€ 16.757,75).
