Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Studying in a Pavilion by Zhou Li was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 187,500.00 (€ 16,390.93). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhou Li - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 354,000.00 (€ 38,961.88).
