This artwork by Zhong Shouren achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the The Chew Family Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Bamboo sold for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,840.91) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhong Shouren; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of HKD 32,500.00 (€ 3,796.87).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhong Shouren erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Chew Family Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Bamboo für USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.840,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhong Shouren; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 32.500,00 (€ 3.796,87).
