Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Peonies by Zheng Manqing. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 8,000.00 – 24,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 11,875.00 (€ 1,282.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Zheng Manqing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chrysanthemum And Orchild in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 76,700.00 (€ 8,211.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peonies von Zheng Manqing zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 24.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 11.875,00 (€ 1.282,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zheng Manqing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chrysanthemum And Orchild im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 76.700,00 (€ 8.211,94).
