Titleslips inscribed and signed by Sun Zhongying (1883-1953), with two seals
NOTE: Sun Zhongying (1883-1953) named Pu, was born in Zhongshan, Guangdong. He was a poet of the South Society, and had a large collection of Chinese paintings and calligraphy. He served in many important positions in Guangdong provincial government.

NOTE: Sun Zhongying (1883-1953) named Pu, was born in Zhongshan, Guangdong. He was a poet of the South Society, and had a large collection of Chinese paintings and calligraphy. He served in many important positions in Guangdong provincial government.
Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zhang Zhao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in December 2021. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center auction, the work Five-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script sold for HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,946.72) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Zhao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy after Mi Fu in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 17,460,000.00 (€ 1,670,335.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Zhao erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center wurde die Arbeit Five-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script für HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.946,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Zhao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy after Mi Fu im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.460.000,00 (€ 1.670.335,24).
