Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Christies held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center, which included the work Calligraphy in Running Script by Zhang Yuanji. It changed hands for a price of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,247.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhang Yuanji have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 162,500.00 (€ 17,885.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Zhang Yuanji zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.247,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Yuanji auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 17.885,04).
