Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphic Couplet by Zhang Yuanji was worth HKD 75,000.00 (€ 7,437.63) to a buyer in May 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 18,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Yuanji - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 17,885.04).

Die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet von Zhang Yuanji war einem Käufer im Mai 2013 HKD 75.000,00 (€ 7.437,63) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 18.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Yuanji mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 17.885,04) versteigert wurde.
