Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Returning By Oar To Pines And Streams by Zhang Yin was sold in the The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,459.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Yin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscapes, which sold at auction in June 2015 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 46,261.43).
