In September 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia: China, Korea, Japan, which included the work Continuous Reproduction by Zhang Peili. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,000.00 (€ 21,801.81), 55% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Peili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Series "X?" No. 3 in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 23,060,000.00 (€ 2,003,999.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Im September 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: China, Korea, Japan durch, in der auch die Arbeit Continuous Reproduction von Zhang Peili zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 31.000,00 (€ 21.801,81) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Peili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Series "X?" No. 3 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 23.060.000,00 (€ 2.003.999,73).
