Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script by Zhang Boju was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,058.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Boju achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orchid in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 1,888,000.00 (€ 212,591.60).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Zhang Boju wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.058,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Boju erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orchid im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.888.000,00 (€ 212.591,60).
