Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zhang Binglin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. In the Chinese Ceramics, Works of Art and Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Seal Script sold for USD 16,562.50 (€ 14,306.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Binglin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Jingwen, which sold at auction in October 2011 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 34,631.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Binglin erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Ceramics, Works of Art and Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script für USD 16.562,50 (€ 14.306,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Binglin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Jingwen beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 34.631,10) versteigert wurde.
