In December 2021 Christies held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center, which included the work Calligraphy in Seal Script by Zhang Binglin. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,787.37), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhang Binglin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Jingwen in October 2011 with an auction result of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 34,631.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy in Seal Script von Zhang Binglin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.787,37) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Binglin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Jingwen im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 34.631,10).
