The work The Appreciation Of Plum Blossom by Zhai Jichang was sold in the Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction at POLY in Hong Kong in October 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 200,600.00 (€ 23,606.46), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhai Jichang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Eight Immortals sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 487,500.00 (€ 40,134.16).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 200.600,00 (€ 23.606,46) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhai Jichang; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Eight Immortals im Mai 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 487.500,00 (€ 40.134,16).
